The Member of Parliament (MP) for Amenfi East, Hon Nicholas Amankwah has install streetlights in the municipal capital as part of the efforts to help curb robbery attacks and other criminal activities at night.
The honorable member was today, Friday, 8th October 2021 seen with electricians installing streetlights at various suburb and street in Wasa Akropong that were without streetlights.
This come as a result of fulfillment of promise made by the Member of Parliament on Rivers fm to lighten the community to improve visibility at night and also help curb criminal activities.
The project which is titled ‘operation lightning the community’ saw about 90 LED Philips streetlights fixed at different suburb and streets within the capital.
Sources close to the MP disclosed to riversfmonline.com that, the 90 streetlights that was fixed today is for the first phase of the project with 300 more to come next week to complete the second phase.
According to the source, this project when completed will not only improve the visibility at night but it will help curb criminal activities and also beautify the Capital.
