The Ghana private road and transport union, GPRTU said, it will be unfortunate and insensitive on the government to increase tolls in the 2022 budget.
Sources has indicated that, road tolls will be significantly increase to about 120% in the budget said to be presented tomorrow with government also likely to increase some levies on petroleum products are kicking against this plan.
But the GPRTU who has already call for the removal of some taxes on the petroleum products are kicking against this plan.
Speaking to the media, the spokesperson for the union, Mr Abbas Imoro said, “ it will be rather unfortunate and insensitive for government to increase the road toll. We have already condemned the existing taxes that they are on a higher value. We even told government through consultation to abolish all the road tolls”.
