The families of the deceased people on the saboba drowning incident want the prosecution of the head teacher at the center of the tragedy discontinued.
The head teacher of Saint Charles Lwanga junior high school at Saboba in the northern region, Emmanuel Chinja has been remanded into prison custody over his alleged involvement in the drowning incident that led to the dead of nine students.
The head teacher is alleged to have sent some students to work on his farm last Friday and on return, the canoe they were traveling with capsized leading to the death of nine students
The spokesperson for the family, Mr Samuel Nimo made a passionate appeal to the president, Akufo Addo during the deputy minister of education visit to commensurate with the family.
“The family members are saying it was not the man’s intention to let the children go and get drowned. So therefore, if the law is taking it course, please let there be a limit. We are appealing through you to the president of the republic that we are pleading. Though we are hurt but he is one of us. Whatever punishment we give him will not bring back our loved ones so they should please temper justice with mercy”.
