The MCE for Wassa AMENFI East Municipal, Hon. Frederick Korankye has embark community engagement in Amenfi East as part of his Community developmental agenda. 

The two days engagement which began in Wassa Mampong on 16th November was to thank the chiefs and the people within the communities, introduce himself to them, ask for their support, prayers and to hold discussions on how the chiefs, assembly members, the unit committees on how the people and the municipal assembly can work together to champion the developmental agenda of the various communities within the municipal.

The Municipal Chief in the company of the municipal budget officer, municipal feeder roads engineer and the assembly members for the electoral areas toured communities like  Akatrika, Asesensu, Adjumako, Boyekrom and Wassa Mampong.

The chiefs on behalf of their people expressed their sincere appreciation to the Hon. MCE for the swift manner in which he has begun engaging communities in the municipality barely a month into his administration. 

According to the them, this is first in it’s kind and therefore urged the MCE not to relent but to continue the good work he has started. 

They also thanked the Nana Addo led-NPP government for the ongoing 14km upgrading of the Diaso-Asesensu, Mampong-Adjumako  feeder road which is being funded by COCOBOD

The chiefs on behalf of their subjects further raised the following issues as major challenges confronting the communities within the area and put them out as humble request

(1) Access to portable water in some communities

(2) a bridge on the Ankobra river to link the area to the rest of the Municipality

(3) electricity extension

(4) telecommunication network accessibility

(5) educational infrastructure expansion

(6) support for ongoing self help community center projects in some of the communities 

Mr Korankye and team thanked the chiefs and the people of the communities and pledged to laise with the appropriate institutions and persons to see how best these issues can be addressed within the next three years of his leadership.
