Oseadeyo Agyemang Badu II, the Overlord of the Dormaa Traditional Area, has urged Ghana’s Minister of Food and Agriculture, Dr Owusu Akoto Afriyie, to address accusations that Ghana is importing cassava from other nations.
In an interview with TV3, the Dormaahene, who is also a High Court judge, claims to have learned that Ghana now imports cassava and rice from Egypt, China, and Belgium
According to him, he was Saddened and depressed upon seeing the news on social media.
“I couldn’t believe my eyes and I still don’t want to believe that it’s true. My eyes were teary and I Nearly Wept. I’m pleading with you to take action. Per what I saw, under your watch as Agric Minister, we import cassava from Egypt, China and Belgium” Dormaahene Oseadeyo Agyemang Badu lamented in an interview to TV3.
“If it’s really true then Ghana is at the cross roads. Where are the managers of the economy? Arise and fight for what is good. Food security is Paramount and shouldn’t be left astray. I’ve spoken. He who have ears should listen ” he added.
