‘Snowdrop’ actor Kim Mi-soo dies at 30

Kim Mi-soo, a South Korean actress, died unexpectedly on Wednesday at the age of 30.

Kim Mi Soo died on January 5, according to reports, and her wake will be held at Taeneung Sungsim Funeral Service.

Her agency, Landscape Entertainment, confirmed the news later that day with the following statement.

“We are relaying sorrowful and heartbreaking news.

Kim Mi Soo suddenly passed away on January 5.

The bereaved family is currently very heartbroken by the sudden mournful news.

We sincerely ask you to refrain from making up rumors or speculative reports so that the bereaved family, who are in shock and grief-stricken, can reverently commemorate the deceased. As per her family’s wishes, the funeral will be held quietly in private.

Please wish for Kim Mi Soo to rest in peace, and once again, we offer our deepest condolences to the deceased.”

Kim is most known for her involvement in the controversial South Korean television series “Snowdrop.” The show, which aired in December, is a period drama set in 1987 Korea that chronicles the narrative of a romance growing amid the political turmoil of the pro-democracy movement. Its portrayal of North Koreans, song selection, and historical accuracy have provoked outrage, with stock prices of linked companies suffering as a result of the backlash, with one petition against it apparently getting over 300,000 signatures, according to Variety.

Kim’s cause of death was not revealed.
