Kevin Taylor slams Akufo-Addo for appointing Tiwaa as EOCO boss.

US–based journalist and social commentator, Kevin Taylor, has slammed President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for appointing COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah as the new Executive Director of the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO).

COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah on Saturday, January 8, 2022, was named the new Executive Director of the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO).

She takes over as Director-General of EOCO from Steve Raymond Dapaa-Addo, who was appointed on July 9, 2021, with her appointment taking effect on January 5, 2022.

But the US-based journalist believes the former Director-General of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) does not deserve the position because of her egregious mishandling of the case involving the then-missing Takoradi girls, who have since been found dead.

“You know Ghana is deeply a shithole under Akufo Addo when this inept woman is appointed the EOCO boss. Do you think any sensible President around the world will dare appoint Tiwaa to head EOCO when she failed in telling Ghanaians the whereabouts of the four missing Taadi girls till date?” he said.

At a news conference on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah told media that the police knew where the kidnapped Takoradi girls were but would not reveal it for their protection.

This comes after the kidnapping case in the country became a hot topic.

However, 5 months later, the then-Acting Inspector General of Police, James Oppong Buanuh, announced that the DNA test results on remains found in a suspect’s residence in Takoradi were those of the four missing girls.
