Until Ghana gets leaders who love movies, the film industry will continue to lack investment. – Majid Michel

Actor Majid Michel has stated that the film industry will not receive any investment until Ghana has leaders who are interested in it.

There have been calls for the government to invest in Ghana’s creative sector, particularly in the film industry, over the years.

The movie business, on the other hand, continues to struggle because governments have not committed resources to help it succeed.

Several industry players have expressed their dissatisfaction with the current situation.

Speaking on Accra-based Joy FM, on the state of the film industry in the country, Majid Michel stated that more leaders who are engaged in cinema are needed.

“That’s why when they say what is the government doing about the film I say the government cannot do anything about the film until you have government officials that love film or individuals that love film then they will give because the government they don’t care. His mind is, what am I doing with film ?”

The actor also stated that there has never been a movie industry in Ghana because there are no studios, and distribution agencies in the country and that movie are produced by personalities who are just passionate about telling stories.
