On January 10, 2022, Chancelor Johnathan Bennett, best known as Chance the Rapper, revealed his Ghanaian name.
According to the American producer and musician, he goes by the name ‘Nana Kofi Boa-Ampensom,’ which is a common Ashanti name.
Because the rapper had identified himself as a Ghanaian in multiple posts and even referred to Ghana as “the homeland,” a fan asked him what his Ghanaian name was.
The American rapper arrived in Ghana on January 5, 2021, to join fellow Chicago rapper Vic Mensa.
They’ve been having the time of their life, traveling to new areas and bonding with Ghanaians through music and sightseeing.
This tour has been both fulfilling and eye-opening for the rapper. “Thank you, Accra, for saving my life,” he wrote in his message.
