We’ve vaccinated nearly 9 million people so far, with another 12 million doses left – Health Minister

The Ghana Health Service (GHS), according to Minister of Health Kwaku Agyeman-Manu, has vaccinated close to 9 million individuals.

On Wednesday, January 12, he told Ghana Television that the country has close to 12 million vaccines, adding, “that we are struggling with to see how we can get our people vaccinated.”

The government aimed to vaccinate 20 million people by the end of last year, but this goal was not met.

It was due to the vaccines’ unavailability at the time, according to the health minister.

“We couldn’t meet our 20 million immunization target because we didn’t have vaccinations in our supplies for approximately 5 or 6 months,” he explained.

“In comparison to the previous month, we vaccinated a big number of people in December,” he continued.
