Britney Spears blasts sister Jamie Lynn in legal letter: I won’t be ‘bullied’

An American singer, songwriter, and dancer, Britney Jean Spears has slam her sister Jamie Lynn in a new legal letter about her continuing book tour “Issues I Ought to Have Mentioned.”

Britney, 40, sent a cease-and-desist letter to her younger sister, Jamie, through her lawyer, Mathew S. Rosengart, requesting that she leave her out of her book tour and stop talking or spreading lies about her.

Jamie Lynn has been openly feuding with her big sister for weeks as she promotes her new memoir, “Things I Should Have Mentioned,” and has said a lot of things she doesn’t like about her.

According to Britney Spear’s lawyer’s letter to Lynn, she stated that she must be very strong and that she will no longer be bullied for the ostensible benefit of book sales.

Britney stated in a letter addressing Lynn’s ill-timed book and its false or absurd accusations about her that she has not and would not read the so-called book.

She also reminded Britney of some of the horrors she had to go through during her 13-year conservatorship, which was imposed on her by her estranged, alcoholic father, Jamie Spears, in order to obtain control over her personal, medical, and financial matters.

The letter reads below.

“Dear Ms. Spears: As you know, I represent your sister Britney Spears, and I write at her request concerning the above-referenced matter. We write with some hesitation because the last thing Britney wants is to bring more attention to your ill-timed book and its misleading or outrageous claims about her,

“Although Britney has not read and does not intend to read your book, she and millions of her fans were shocked to see how you have exploited her for monetary gain. She will not tolerate it, nor should she.

“You of all people know the abuse and wrongdoing Britney had to endure during the conservatorship, after initially growing up with a ‘ruinous,’ alcoholic father. In fact, your own book reportedly states that your father ‘spent most of my life in that cycle of ruinous behavior. His bouts of drinking caused me periods of torment and sorrow.

“As I have previously stated, having endured a 13-year conservatorship that stripped her of civil rights and fundamental liberties, Britney will no longer be bullied by her father or anyone else.

“Britney was the family’s breadwinner and she also otherwise supported you. Publicly airing false or fantastical grievances is wrong, especially when designed to sell books. It is also potentially unlawful and defamatory.

“Michelle Obama famously said, ‘when they go low, we go high,’ and to Britney’s great credit, that is exactly what Britney is going to do, for the time being.

“You recently reportedly stated that the book was ‘not about her.’ She takes you at your word and we, therefore, demand that you cease and desist from referencing Britney derogatorily during your promotional campaign. If you fail to do so or defame her, Britney will be forced to consider and take all appropriate legal action.”

At the end, Britney Spear’s lawyer stated that Lynn’s legal team can contact him if they have any questions about the letter.
