Ghana Police Reacts Kumasi Tanker Explosion

Just when we are still reeling from the Bogoso explosion on Thursday, another one occurred today, Friday, involving a fuel tanker that detonated.

The news spread quickly on social media, with individuals sharing photographs and videos from the scene.

The incident occurred at roughly 3:00pm on Friday, January 21, 2022, in Kaase near Asokwa in Kumasi, according to reports.

Tanker Explosion in Kumasi: Ghana police have responded to the report with a Facebook post, claiming that the explosion occurred while a fuel tanker was discharging fuel to some tricycles at Kaase.

No one was hurt, and no deaths were reported as a result of the incident, according to the post.

Both the tanker driver and the tricycle rider were able to flee the area.

According to a Facebook post by the Ghana Police Service, their team arrived on time to deal with the incident, and they are currently conducting investigations into what caused the fire (explosion).

“Fuel Tanker Catches Fire at Kaase Near Asokwa in Kumasi.

“Today January 21, 2022, at about 3:00 pm a fuel tanker that was discharging fuel to some tricycles at Kaase caught fire.

“A few people are believed to have sustained some injuries. Thankfully, no persons have been reported dead.

“The tanker driver and the tricycle rider involved have escaped the scene.

“The police are at the scene to manage the situation.

“Meanwhile, we are investigating and full details will be given in due course.”
