Gold Dealer Killed In Jacobu, Police launch Special “Bush Operation” to arrest Robbery Gang

The Ashanti Regional Police Command’s Anti-Robbery Squad is on a special “bush operation” led by DCOP Afful Boakye Yiadom, the Regional Police Commander.

The action is being undertaken in an attempt to apprehend alleged armed robbers who shot and killed a gold buyer in Jacobu, Ashanti Region, and stole 324 grams of gold.

The gold buyer was attacked on Monday, January 24, 2022, when the gold dealer, who is now deceased, was transferring the gold from Attabrakoso to Huu, according to the police.

After the incident, the gang of four is claimed to have retreated into a nearby bush and made off with an undisclosed quantity of money as well as some cellphones.

When the gang comes to sell their treasure, the police are urging gold purchasers to be on the alert for them. Any suspect gold dealer(s) should also be reported to the police so that they might be apprehended quickly.
