Palmeiras prodigy Endrick , is widely regarded as Brazil’s next big thing.
The Palmeiras forward is only 15 years old, but he has gained the attention of Europe’s top clubs, who want to sign him.
Atletico Madrid, Arsenal, Ajax, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, and Real Madrid are among the contenders.
The contract of the Brazilian adolescent with Palmeiras includes a €17 million release clause, but it could cost even more if teams are keen to sign him in the future.
However, FIFA rules forbid any European team from signing him until he reaches the age of 18, which means he won’t be eligible to play on another continent until the 2024/25 season.
A bidding war is already emerging for his signature and there are those arguing that the Brazilian club should wait for greater fee in a couple of years’ time over the present price of 30-40 million euros.
Real Madrid appears to be in the lead in their pursuit of the 15-year-old, and they are eager to complete a deal with Palmeiras as soon as possible.
Barcelona is Madrid’s major opponent for such signings, but the Catalan club is now mired in financial difficulties and cannot afford to spend that kind of money for a future investment.
Endrick might strike a verbal deal with a club right now, but he won’t be able to sign a professional contract until he turns 16. He would then be able to join a European squad two years later, on his 18th birthday.
Endrick’s signing could be a massive risk, but given the brilliance that the Palmeiras prodigy has already demonstrated at the age of 15, it’s no surprise that clubs are lining up to recruit him.
