Cheslie Kryst, a former Miss USA beauty pageant winner, was discovered dead on Sunday after jumping from a New York high rise building.
She allegedly killed herself after struggling with her mental health.
Zozi Tunzi, a South African beauty queen, took to Instagram to pay respect to Cheslie Kryst and to highlight the wonderful friendship they shared.
“Cheslie, my friend, I am devastated,” Zozi said with photographs and videos of the two of them together. I didn’t sleep a wink because I couldn’t believe the news and couldn’t make sense of what was going on.
“You were meant to give me images of the outfit you were going to wear to a wedding on Saturday, as well as all the information of the occasion.” You caught me off guard, Queen. I’m not prepared for a world where you don’t exist.
“I hope you’re sleeping soundly now, love.”
You meant everything to so many individuals and will continue to do so in the future. You left an indelible impression on the world and touched the lives of so many people. We honor your existence. I adore you, my everlasting friend and forever Miss USA. “Beautiful, RIP.”
In 2019, the two beauty queens were crowned Miss USA and Miss South Africa, respectively, and later competed against each other at the Miss Universe pageant, with Zozi emerging victorious.
