A report sight by riversfmonline on Myjoyonline indicates that a 29-year-old police officer was crushed to death on the Kasoa-Apam highway in the Central Region.
According the report, the Police Officer, Comfort Freby was hit by a speeding Toyota with the plate number GS 4746-20 at a police checkpoint in the early hours of Tuesday,
The driver lost control of his vehicle when he arrived at the checkpoint, and ran into the deceased, killing her on the spot.
The news has saddened authorities with the Gomoa Dominase District Police Command, who claim that the barrier was only put in place last week following a string of robbery crimes on the highway.
Meanwhile, Central Regional Police Commanders paid a visit to the deceased’s home to express their condolences to her husband.
