A moving O.A Zhongtong bus with the registration number AS 8249-19 has caught fire as it travels from Tumu to Accra with 49 passengers on board.
On Saturday, February 5, 2021, at around 5:30 a.m., the incident is claimed to have occurred.
The driver, Anim Richmond 52, spotted smoke coming from the back of the truck when he arrived to a section of the route near Akim Fisher near Asiakwa junction on the Accra-Kumasi Highway.
He claimed he parked the bus on the side of the road, but it was immediately engulfed in flames and burned beyond recognition.
All of the passengers on board were unharmed.
Ghana National Fire Service personnel from the Kibi Fire Station came on the spot to put out the fire.
Sargeant Francis Gomado, the Deputy Public Relations Officer, said that efforts are being made to take the vehicle away from the location.
