Marcelo’s football career is coming to an end, with the Brazilian left-back considering retirement at the end of the 2021-22 season.
After Ferland Mendy’s arrival from Lyon in 2019, the Brazilian, who had been a prominent component in Madrid’s first squad for nearly a decade, had lost his starting spot in recent years.
Due to recurrent leg muscular problems in previous campaigns, the 33-year-old Brazilian was limited to just 31 La Liga games over the past two complete seasons.
Marcelo, the Real Madrid captain, is ready to depart the club after 15 years, having made 533 first-team games and winning 22 titles during his time in the Spanish capital.
He is presently tied with Paco Gento for the most Real Madrid titles with 23, and the 33-year-old would like to overtake Gento if Los Blancos win LaLiga Santander or the Champions League this season.
According to Paco Gonzalez, a well-known Spanish journalist, Real Madrid captain Cristiano Ronaldo will retire and pursue a modeling career.
Paco Gonzalez, the director of Cadena Cope’s ‘Tiempo De Juego’ show, remarked, “He isn’t going to continue playing football.”
“He wants to win another title with Real Madrid to surpass Gento’s record, and then he’ll retire from football.”
“After that, his ambition is to work as a model for a North American clothing company, potentially selling boxer shorts.”
