Nana Aba Anamoah, the General Manager of GHOne Television, has issued an unequivocal apologies to the general public for misrepresenting that the viral “e-levy cake” was a gift from NDC Minority members in parliament to Majority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu.

Yesterday, February 9, 2022, the majority leader turned 65, and the highlight of his birthday party, which was attended by numerous NPP leaders, enraged many Ghanaians.

At his birthday celebration, a video of his birthday cake fashioned in the contentious E-levy — a tax policy the government is aiming to implement – went viral, prompting many Ghanaians to accuse the government of being callous for mocking their struggle and concerns.

In a tweet, GHone TV claimed that the infamous E-levy was a gift from the Minority, a charge that the NDC MPs angrily refuted.

The station has subsequently apologized to the public for the allegation, however this has sparked a lot of outrage from Twitter users.
