While acting as Chief Executive of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), former Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram has emphasized the vital role he played in changing the AMA.

On Citi TV’s Footprints, Mr. Mensah stated that his principal success as Chief Executive caused a dramatic transition in the Assembly’s operations.

“It was an interesting experience [working as AMA’s Chief Executive Officer].” He remembered, “I stayed there for ten years and altered the place [AMA].”

He stated that despite the fact that he was not paid for his position as Chief Executive, he was still willing to serve.

“Everyone who was appointed worked in the government, and we were transferred to the Assembly.” During our time there, no one complained about not being paid. It wasn’t a glamorous profession, but it was thrilling.”

Following his appointment, Mr. Mensah said he had to confer extensively with his predecessor and other people familiar with the AMA’s activities.

“When you look at Accra’s structure and history, the person who served the longest was E.C Quaye, and we assumed he had worked for numerous years and was Nkrumah’s staff carrier.” “As a result, we decided to consult him,” he explained.
