According to reports, two Army Black Hawk Helicopters crashed near the Mineral Basin area in Utah, USA, on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, during a National Guard training operation.

According to major news outlets, two Utah National Guard helicopters crashed at 9:30 a.m.

According to accounts, a pair of UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters were involved in an accident that resulted in damage.

The good news in this mishap, according to Jared Jones, chief warrant officer 5 with the Utah National Guard, is that all passengers were safe and no injuries were recorded.

According to Jared Jones, who spoke at a press conference about the helicopter crash, the two helicopters were attempting to land in an approved training area about 150 yards away from the Snowbird’s boundaries, but the snow kicked up and the aircraft lost sight of the ground as they landed, resulting in one of the blades striking the other and causing damage.

“As they landed, the snow kicked up and the aircraft probably lost sight of the ground, we know there were portions of the rotor blade that separated from the helicopter and struck the second helicopter.”

“The second helicopter, after being hit by pieces of the first helicopter, was able to make a quick landing at that point.”

“It was a blessing that everyone was okay,” Jones said.

After two Blackhawk helicopters were involved in a mishap, Little Cottonwood Canyon National Guard authorities indicated that rapid reaction and training helped avoid anyone from being wounded.

“We can confirm that two Utah National Guard UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters were engaged in a training mishap near Mineral Basin at approximately 9:30 a.m. today.” The collision did not result in any injuries to the crew. Both UH-60s sustained damage. The incident is being investigated, according to the Utah National Guard.

However, the event is being investigated, and the Utah National Guard has stopped training flights as a result of the crash on Tuesday, pending a safety assessment.
