Bagbin can’t treat us like children – Subin MP

Hon Eugene Boakye Antwi, Member of Parliament (MP) for the Subin Constituency, has reminded the Speaker of Parliament that he cannot shout at lawmakers the manner he did.

During his address to Parliament, the Speaker of Parliament stated that the lawmakers’ attitude makes him sick.

He said they don’t appear to comprehend why they’re in the residence, therefore anyone who misbehaves will be handed over to the marshals to be escorted out.

However, Hon Eugene Boakye Antwi, speaking on Accra’s OKAY FM, stated that the Speaker of Parliament was out of order.

“Some people think Ghana is still in 1981 when Rawlings staged his coup, so those in positions of power may just speak anyway,” he said. If a lawyer communicates in this manner, he has a lot of room for improvement.

“Since Bagbin became Speaker, he has spoken for an hour every time we sit down.

“In the meantime, let’s get down to business.” In the legislative branch, we are not children. Some of us have grandchildren, so we aren’t exactly youngsters in class one who need someone to talk to.

“Someone will one day despise Alban Bagbin for what he is doing.” “We have no idea what he works there,” he stated on OKAY FM, “but as a lawyer, he should know better.”
