Ghanaians must be patient as President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-administration Addo’s works to assure economic prosperity for everybody, just as it took a long time for Ghana to gain independence from British colonial overlords.
Mr. Akufo-Addo stated that establishing economic prosperity will take time.
He made these remarks during an independence day awards ceremony on Wednesday, March 2 in Accra, ahead of the 65th Independence Day celebrations.
“As we prepare to commemorate 65 years of independence from British colonial rule with the theme of “Working Together, Bouncing Back Better,” let us avoid acts of division and self-centeredness, which will only slow our progress.
“We must have the pride to recognize that we have made progress, as well as the humility to recognize that we still have a long way to go.”
“We must have the patience to understand that, just as our war for freedom and independence did not happen overnight, neither will national prosperity.”
“In peace and togetherness, we are laying a firm basis for our country’s economic takeoff.” I am confident that we will create a new Ghanaian culture that will inspire Africa and the rest of the globe.”
