AMA reelects Asiedu Adjei as Presiding Member

The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has reelected Mr Alfred Asiedu Adjei, an Assemblyman from Avenor, as its Presiding Member (PM) for the third time in a row, receiving 100% of the votes.

The election, which took place on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at the AMA’s Omanye Aba Hall, was presided over by Her Worship Afia Owusu, a circuit court judge, and was attended by notable figures such as Hon. In the election conducted by officials of the Electoral Commission, Hon Alfred Adjei, widely known as ‘PAA JOE,’ who is also the Assembly member for Avenor Electoral Area, earned 31 ‘yes’ votes out of 31 ballots cast to retain his position as PM for the AMA.

In his acceptance address, Mr Adjei utilized the occasion to announce his candidacy for President of the National Association of Local Authorities of Ghana (NALAG) and expressed deep gratitude to Assembly members for their unwavering support and confidence in him.
