Two suspected armed robbers have been brought to the Walewale Government Hospital in the North East Region’s West Mamprusi Municipality after being attacked by several youngsters at the Walewale Market Square in an attempt to steal a motorcycle and cellphones.
The tragedy occurred around 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2022, which also happened to be market day in the town.
Residents in the North East Region have been subjected to a series of robberies, which have prompted dread and panic because mobile money vendors are unable to operate after 7 p.m.
The two suspects were involved in separate market operations, and this isn’t the first time robbers have targeted traders in the Walewale market.
DSP Cosmos Awe, the West Mamprusi Police Commander, has declined to comment on the subject because no complaint has been filed at the police station.
In this context, the police commander has declined to provide specifics concerning the alleged armed robbers’ beatings.
