Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President’s spokesperson, has stated that calls by a section of Ghanaians for the Vice President to talk on economic concerns is a tacit indication that Ghanaians have a high level of trust in him.
Dr. Gideon Boako stressed that Ghanaians have faith or trust in the Vice President in an interview with Philip Osei Bonsu on Asempa FM’s Ekosiisen afternoon show on Tuesday, March 22, 2022.
“O. B., these requests for the Vice President to speak about the economy demonstrate Ghanaians’ faith in the Vice President. They know he has the ability to drive economic debates and how to effectively manage the predicament we’ve found ourselves in as a result of external causes,” Dr. Boako said.
He went on to say that the difficult economic circumstances in which Ghanaians find themselves cannot be attributable to local issues, but rather to external shocks.
COVID-19 wrecked havoc on the economy, according to the Vice President’s Spokesperson, and the Russia/Ukraine conflict has further exacerbated the issue.
In response to former President John Mahama’s recent comments, Dr. Boako urged the former President to be dignified and address matters concerning the economy in his speeches.
He went on to tell the former President that if he had any solutions to the problems, he should share them with his audience.
