3 remanded for allegedly defiling 10-year-old girl

Three men have been remanded in custody by a Cape Coast Circuit Court for allegedly defiling a 10-year-old girl at Abura-Edumfa in the Central Region’s Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese District.

Mrs. Dorinda Smith presided over the court as the three defendants, John Amoah, 28, Frederick Nyarko, 42, and John Ofori, 45, all pleaded not guilty to the charge of defilement. Arthur adjourned the sitting until Thursday, April 21.

The girl was defiled by the three guys on various occasions between Sunday, March 20 and Monday, April 4, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Irene Oppong Serwaah, Regional Public Relations Officer (PRO).

According to her, the victim’s mother reported the incident to the police, who apprehended and arraigned the accused before the Abura Dunkwa district court.

The girl was treated at the government hospital in Abura Dunkwa.

She stated that efforts were being made to apprehend another suspect, whose name was given as Kojo, in order to assist police investigations.

She encouraged anyone with information on the fugitive to contact the police or phone the toll-free hotline 18555 immediately.
