Yvonne Nelson (Pixah Photo, Instagram: @yvonnenelsongh)Yvonne Nelson, a Ghanaian actress and film producer, has bemoaned the laziness of Ghanaian film editors when working with them.
She expressed her issue in an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz when a listener asked if she hired a Ghanaian editor for her new album and how long it took for the editor to complete the work.
The CEO of YN Productions said that she rejected because they have repeatedly screwed her up.
She believes that the timeliness, sincerity, and efficiency with which Ghanaian editors approach their work are unacceptable, and as a result, she chooses to work with foreign film editors over local film editors.
“I’ve been railing about Ghanaian editors.” They screwed with my head. Timelines, seriousness, and efficiency are all zero, so I’ll be honest, I just finished shooting a new film and had to fly in a Nigerian editor to finish it. “In three weeks, he finished editing and left,” she stated.
She went on to say that, except from the Ghanaian film editors she finds difficult to work with, everyone else, including sound engineers and directors, has so far performed admirably.
Yvonne Nelson was on the show with TikTok sensation Jackline Mensah to promote their forthcoming film, ‘Fifty Fifty,’ which will be released this Saturday at the Silver Bird Cinemas in the Accra Mall.
